Reading this morning in Ryle’s ‘Expository Thoughts on the Gospels’ on Matthew 8:1-15 and the Bishop provides a wonderful quote given ‘of an old saint’ which I found to be a wonderful quote as it relates to El Shaddai.
“my faith can sleep sound on no other pillow than Christ’s omnipotence”
On an aside, (do not be distracted by this aside) I find in my reading of our Reformers writings that they often quote either other saints or hymns without giving ‘proper recognition’ to the original source. And no one seems to mind…. There are no lawsuits or copyrights ‘All rights reserved’ notices and all these brethren are all ok with that. How refreshing. But this post is not intended for the purpose of expressing my feelings on this but to ponder on the above quote.
