Jay Shreve: Mystery Man.
Bernard P. Fife, staff reporter
Although his specific whereabouts are unknown, our sources have alerted us that Shreve is, in fact, somewhere in Louisville, Kentucky, and is more a slugger than a seminarian, though his latent Baptist tendencies, like the proverbial still waters, do run deep. To set the record straight, he is not in seminary. He has been allegedly sighted napping in the seminary library, however, on the back row, of course, like any good Baptist.
Again according to an undisclosed, yet reliable source, even though Shreve may actually be planning on renewing some type of study, it probably will not be at Carolina, and although he does sincerely love cows and all things bovine, it will definitely not be Clemson. Chances are he will just be investing more time in church (Baptist, but maybe reformed?), family, and relationships…and nursing, since that’s what he actually did go to school for! Whatever Shreve does, it will be in accordance with God’s will, which he is diligently seeking. ..and who knows, the world can never have enough coffee shops, can it?
Speaking of relationships, another missing piece to the jigsaw puzzle which is Jay Shreve, what’s up with that? Surely a good-looking redhead (that’s an oxymoron I think) like Shreve should be married or at least engaged. The rumor mill has churned out a fine story about a fiancé, but our sources again reveal the truth: there is a girl. Isn’t there always? Her name will be withheld to protect her identity, but her initials are L.B., which stands for Lynn Blakeman…ooops. Well there it is! Our extensive background checks have revealed the following facts: 1) she’s incredible, 2) she has a sterling servant’s heart, 3) she’s cute, 5) Shreve is “seeking to grow with her in community and honor and esteem her as a daughter of the King”(his actual words secretly recorded during a recent taping of the Al Mohler Radio Show).
A reliable mole in the Jay Shreve organization has let slip that Shreve may be found at Christ Church on April 8; we hope this is veracious as many of us would love to see him.
Lastly, again according to that same mole, Shreve actually enjoys reads and enjoys The Haven blogspot; there’s no accounting for taste!
